Bluetooth
What is Bluetooth?
Bluetooth is a short-range wireless communications technology designed to replace the cable that usually connect portable and/or fixed devices while maintaining high levels of security.
The key features of Bluetooth technology are robustness, low power and low cost. The Bluetooth specification defines a uniform structure for a wide range of devices to connect and communicate with each other. A fundamental Bluetooth wireless technology strength is the ability to simultaneously handle both data and voice transmissions.
Any Bluetooth enabled device, almost everywhere in the world, can connect to other Bluetooth enabled devices that are nearby. Each device can also simultaneously communicate with up to seven other devices at the same time.

Problems with your Vertu handset
My phone seems always to be low on power or switches off automatically. Why?
If your phone appears to have problems with power, the problem may be with the handset, the battery, or the charger. Before returning your handset to a Vertu service centre for inspection, please perform the following checks:

  1. Fully charge the battery according to the instructions in the User Guide
  2. Remove and re-instert the battery
  3. Check that you are using a Vertu battery and a charger that is compatible with your handset model
  4. If you have acces to another battery and charger of the same type as yours, try substituting them to determine if the issue is with the handset, the battery, or the charger

If you are unable to test your phone or if it still keeps switching off, please return it to the nearest Vertu service centre inspection.

My calls are dopped or my phone signal is low
Dropped calls or low sound quality during calls can result from low signal strength or momentary gaps in the network coverage, either at your end or at the other end of the connection.
In most cases, your operator or service provider is the best source of assistance with issues regarding signal strength.
Signal strength is indicated by the signal indicators on the left side of the phone’s display. The number of indicators increases as the strength of the signal increases and decreases as the signal decreases.
To increase your phone’s signal strength, try moving your phone slightly, or move towards a window if you’re calling from inside a building.
If you continuously experience low signal strength, it may be that network coverage is insufficient or that you have a phone variant which is not designed to work on the frequencies on your area. Your operator or service provider can provide you with more information on network coverage.
If you believe that the problem may be with your handset instead of the network, please return your handset to your nearest Vertu service centre for inspection.

My phone won’t ring or my ringing tone is too low
Please try the following troubleshooting tips:

  1. Ensure that your handset is switched on and that there is sufficient signal strength (signal strength is indicated by the signal indicators at the left side of the phone’s display). The number of indicators increases as the strength of the signal increases and decreases as the signal decreases. To increase your phone’s signal strength, try moving your phone slightly, or move towards a window if you’re calling from inside a building
  2. With some handsets, if a handset is attached to the phone, the phone will not ring through its own speaker but only through the headset; detach the deaset and re-test the phone to determine if this resolves the issue
  3. If the phone’s profile is set to “Silent”, “Meeting” or any other profile where ringing is muted/silenced, it will not ring. Change the profile to the “General” profile and re-test. Instructions for checking and changing your profile are included in your Use Guide.
  4. Ensure that ring tone has been enabled and the volume is not too low. Instructions for adjusting the volume and selecting a ring tone are included in your User Guide
  5. If Call Divert is activated, your calls may be going straight to the Voicemail without your phone ringing. Instructions for activating and deactivating Call Divert are included in your User Guide. For assistance with Voicemail, please contact your operator or service provider

If your phone still won’t ring, please return it to a Vertu service centre for inspection.

My phone wants me to enter a PIN code or a security code. What does this mean?
Your phone is equipped with one or more codes to protect it against unauthorized use.
The PIN and PUK codes protect the SIM card which establishes the network connection. The most common code is the PIN (Personal Identification Number) code, which you set yourself and can activate and deactivate by following the instructions in your User Guide.
The PIN2 code is PIN code which acts as a second layer of protection for certaing features of your phone. It functions in the same way as the PIN code, and more information is available in your User Guide.
If the PIN code is entered incorrectly multiple times, your phone may request a PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) code, which is an 8-digit code provided by your operator or service provider.
If the PIN2 code is entered incorrectly multiple times, your phone may request a PUK2 code. Please contact your operator or service provider for assistance with your PIN and/or PUK codes.
If you have already contacted your service provider and the code provided did not work, you will have to obtain a new SIM card from your operator or service provider.
If your phone is prompting you for a security code and you believe that you have not activated one, try entering the default code for your handset, which is 12345.
Only try this once. If your phone still requests a security code, please return it to the nearest Vertu service centre for inspection.

My phone displays “SIM card rejected” or “SIM card unaccepted”
The SIM (subscriber identity module) card is a small card inside your phone that establishes a network connection. The SIM card is provided by your operator or service provider, and in most cases, they are the best source of assistance with SIM card problems. Your phone may display a SIM card error message if:
1.  The SIM card is out of alignment
If the phone has recently been dropped, bumped, or opened, the SIM card may need adjusting. Follow the SIM card installation instructions in your User Guide.
2. The PUK code is entered incorrectly multiple times
This can deactivate the SIM card. If deactivation appears to be permanent, contact your operator or service provider for a new SIM card.
If either of the situations above apply and you continue to receive this error message, your SIM card may be damaged. Please contact your operator or service provider to have the SIM card tested and/or replaced. Alternatively, please return your phone to the newarest Vertu service centre for inspection.

My Vertu Aerius Bluetooth headset does not pair with my phone. How do i find out if the headset is faulty?
Switch on the Aerius headset by pressing the Answer/End button. The LED light should display a rapid series of blue flashes, then flash a steady blue light approximately every 3 seconds. Press the Bluetooth pairing button on the underside of the unit. The LED should now display a steady blue light. The headset is now in pairing mode.
Put your Bluetooth handset into search mode (full instructions can be found in your handset’s User Guide).
The phone should find the signal from the Aerius and ask if it should pair with the headset. Accept this by pressing “Yes” and confirm with the passkey (or PIN no) “0000” (4 zeros). When pairing is successful the LED on the Aerius headset will return to a 3 second blue flash indication. Pairing is now complete.
Should the headset fail to pair the first time, attempt the procedure three times, preferably with different handsets. If the headset will not pair with the phone it should be returned to Vertu for further investigation.

Where is the best place to look for troubleshooting information?

In addition, the interractive demos in the “Use your Vertu” section of this website include simulations that demonstrate your phone’s features and how to use them.
If you can’t find the answer to your question online, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
